  • Q. How Do I upload images?

  • Q. The upload page asks to install a Graphix inc. application, what's that?
  • A. Windows users on Internet Explorer are asked to install an "Active-X" program from Graphix inc. This is a helper application designed to make uploading easier. It is completly safe to install and use.
  • Q. What format should my files be?
  • A. Jpeg
  • Q. What quality setting should by camera be on?
  • A. If you are using a point-and-shoot, use the highest setting. If using a digital SLR, you may use a lower setting if only doing 4x6 prints.
  • Q. How do I know if my files are big enough?
  • A. After you upload a symbol (happy face or sad face) will appear to the right of the file name. Hover your mouse over the symbol for the answer.
  • Q. Are my images cropped?
  • A. Most point-and-shoot digital cameras shoot a format not the same aspect ratio as a conventional 4x6 print. Consequently, a small amount of the top and bottom of your image will be cropped (horizontal). If you require full frame, please put a note in the special instructions area for full frame-no cropping. You will recieve 4x6 prints with white borders on either side of your image. Most newer Digital SLR cameras shoot the same aspect ratio as a 4x6 print.
  • Q. Do you offer white borders?
  • A. Yes, white borders are offered on 4x6 prints at no additional charge.
  • Q. What technology does Swan Photo Labs use to print?
  • A. Swan Photo Labs uses state-of-the art digital Noritsu and Fuji printers. The silver halide photographic paper is exposed by red, blue and green lasers then processed through conventional photographic chemicals, just like prints from film cameras.
  • Q. How long will my prints last?
  • A. Swan Photo Labs prints will last several decades before noticeable fading occurs under normal conditions. Unlike home ink-jet printers, Swan Photo Labs prints are just like the prints you receive from film cameras.
  • Q. Do greeting cards come with envelopes?
  • A. Yes, all greeting cards come with envelopes, with a couple of extra in case of addressing mistakes.
  • Q. What kind of paper is used for greeting cards?
  • A. We use the same paper for greeting cards as for our high quality digital prints, true photographic silver-halide paper.
